According to an annual survey by the National Retail Federation (NFR) and Prosper Insights & Analytics, there was a record of 196.7 million Americans who shopped in stores and online during the 2022 Thanksgiving weekend, which included the five-day holiday shopping period from Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday.

“The Thanksgiving holiday shopping weekend is a tradition treasured by many American families,” says NRF president and CEO Matthew Shay.

The inflation stress on consumers has led retailers to respond accordingly. Trends show retailers offering a season of buying convenience, matching sales and promotions across channels, and other ways to accommodate customers at each stage of the buyer’s journey.
